ATV uses an all-digital re-mastering technology that takes your old videos and film and restores and enhances it with spectacular features that include high-definition upgrades, masterful color correction, special light filtering techniques, noise reduction and some technical trick called "image stabilizationn".

You don't have to understand the technical side, just know that your finished product will look much better than the originals!

Once completed, we'll return your original materials and your brand new DVD - in a professionally packaged box - and give you the option to store your files with friends and family.

Here's how the process works at ATV. You pull together all of  your materials - your slides, photos, videos, films - any format - from 8mm to Super 8 to 16mm; from Betacam to VHS C - whatever you have, we can transfer for you. We'll tell you how to package your materials for safe shipping.

When we receive your materials, we convert your materials to digital. You can sort and watch all of your converted materials online. We'll sort, label and organize your materials under your direction. Then we'll produce a customized DVD.

We'll return your originals to you. We'll send you a professionally packaged DVD - and give you the option to store your original transferred files online.

First, we perform physical cleaning: remove dust and debris from the film. Next, a cleaning and lubricating agent is applied. This cleaner helps keep the film hydrated and pliable, as well as filling in small scratches and giving the film a light protective coating, which gives the capture a "wet gate" like appearance. During this process, we inspect the film, add leader if necessary, and repair torn sprocket holes, tears, or bad splices. Also, at this point we will combine small reels together onto one large archival reel(s) for more compact and safe storage.

Next, we transfer your movies to a digital tape, utilizing a CCD (charged coupled device) or Digital Chip. This proven process delivers far superior quality than traditional transfer methods. Each reel is monitored by hand, from start to finish. This takes longer to do, but we believe the results are worth the effort. It provides much higher quality than a normal projector, and our customers comment that the results look much better than it ever did through a projector.

What is optical stabilization

This service will virtually elminate the shaking and bouncing cause by handheld shot. Image we can actually improve the video you shot of your wedding vows 25 years ago. How is this done? By dynamically cropping or cutting the each side of each frame. The results are amazing. See our sample here
